Over the course of her career, Me. Me. Lyonel D. Dorlette, Accredited Lawyer-Mediator

Me. Lyonel D. Dorlette is proud continue to offer his services as Mediator and his expertise in Family Law. Me. Dorlette suggests a structured approach which gives clients the opportunity to determine the most appropriate measures to protect their rights, remain functional and even maintain a relationship with the other person. To resolve problems in a cordial manner, you have the option of choosing between various methods, namely preventative mediation, family mediation, negotiation and collaborative law.

Born in Hull (Gatineau), Me. Dorlette graduated from Laval University in Québec City with a Bachelor's Degree in Law in 1996. In 2001, Me. Dorlette decided to concentrate his practice to dealing in Family Law matters and soon after, completed his formal training to become an accredited Mediator while pursuing his post-secondary education and the development of his professional skills in the areas of Communications, Leadership and Conflict Resolution. Since 2007, he also shares his passion with students at the University of Ottawa, teaching them alternative methods of conflict resolution. Since 2013, Me. Dorlette is also a lecturer for the Ministère de la Justice and provides information sessions on parenting after separation.

For many years, Me. Dorlette has been involved in his community at various levels: he was a member of the board of the Outaouais C.S.L.C. and of the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of the Outaouais region. Me. Dorlette enjoys the level of interaction he develops with his clients in his role as mediator, particularly when he is allowed to fully understand their needs, using his Mediation360 methodology. This approach, which respects the art of negotiating and its dynamics, allows him to elaborate personalized strategies for conflict resolution while taking into account the individuality of the clients he is working with and the unique components of Family Law in Québec. His objective is to guide his clients to a clear and possible solution.

Me. Joëlle Malo, LL.L

Born in Gatineau, Me Joëlle Malo completed her Civil Law degree (LL.L.) at the University of Ottawa and was admitted to the Québec Bar Association in 2011. She discovered a passion for the human dimension of law while completing her internship at the World Food Programme in Italy. Me Malo redirected her career path and joined La Boîte Juridique in January 2017. She is currently completing a Master degree in tax law and focuses her practice in this specialized area of law by assisting clients in cases of objection and relief requests, as well as a tax litigator appearing before the provincial and federal courts. Through her studies in related fields, she has also developed an appreciation and for accounting and the impact of tax, accounting and the law as it relates to the business world. This rich combination of knowledge and passion is why she often collaborates with other colleagues in other areas of practice, including civil and commercial litigation and corporate law.

Me Malo is grateful for the opportunity to support business owners in achieving their goals, by providing counsel or finding creative solutions to the challenges they encounter. Her analytical mind and intellectual curiosity make her a strong ally of the firm’s clients.
